Jesse Lingard: Manchester United contract talks collapse and player believes matter is now closed | Football News

Jesse Lingard is expected to leave Manchester United after talks over a new contract collapsed.

It is understood that the offer put forward to Lingard’s representatives was less than what the England international currently earns at Old Trafford.

It is now expected that Lingard will look to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer and may even look for a loan move in January similar to the move he made last season to West Ham.

The 28-year-old is keen to play regularly and hopes to impress Gareth Southgate ahead of the World Cup in a year’s time.

Lingard’s camp are now convinced that the player’s future lies away from Old Trafford.
